Melbourne-born, Byron based - Kat Bak will open her exhibition 'Romantica' on March 8th at Newrybar Merchants in alignment with IWD and as part of our Pop-Up Artist program. Through simplistic minimal lines and fluctuating brushstrokes and tone, Kat's work focuses on abstract elements of the human landscape; in particular the wondrous female form. Through the series she explores notions of connection, reflection, and the ideals we have within our closest relationships; between lovers, family, friends and ourselves.
Ella Noah Bancroft is an Australian born artist, storyteller, teacher, director and mentor, as well as founder of sustainable clothing brand 'Yhi'. She is a poetic feminist whose passion in protecting the earth fuels her projects. Ella has a no BS approach to life and works to bring about awareness on current political issues, including the environment, womens issues and Indigenous rights.
Future Dreamers is the ultimate GIRLS CLUB located in the heart of Byron Bay, where they hold events, workshops, backyard gigs, art classes, dance and study sessions for FREE for girls aged 12-25. The not-for-profit all inclusive girls club inspire young women to embrace their uniqueness and the magic of coming together; that creativity is awesome and the future is what you make it.
Business mentor, strategist, speaker - Owners Collective founder Pru Chapman was once told by a client that working with her was like hauling your business through an intense Crossfit session followed by a double espresso and a lazy thriatholon. With over 15 years in business strategy, psychology and leadership developments, Pru has worked with thousands of clients from start-ups to early entrepreneurs to big business.
Seed & Sprout founder Sophie Kovic's goal is to reduce reliance on single-use plastics by creating tools that help everyday people make healthy choices, easily. Impelled by the frustration of not being able to find a zero waste packaging solution for her son's school lunches, Sophie set out to create practical products that are bridging the gap between the ideal and the action of committing to a sustainable future.
Leeli - aka Emma Louise - is a Byron Bay local who's musical journey has seen her perform across the globe and alongside some of Australia's finest young musicians. Her sweet, soulful voice draws on influences ranging from Bob Dylan and Fleetwood Mac to Glen Hansard and Jack White. She has a unique brand of folk pop characterised by intricately crafted songs that tell stories from her life and travels.
